Adding selected kernel options

To add selected options follow the steps:

# cp vmunix /vmunix.save
# /usr/sbin/doconfig
Enter configuration file name at prompt (ex. MYSYS). If the configuration file does not exist, a new one with that name is created. If it exists, overwrite permission is queried. Select kernel option from the displayed menu similar to the one below:

19 Help

Edit the configuration file if needed. doconfig calls the editor defined by EDITOR. When editing is terminated, doconfig builds the new kernel. To make it active, do:

# mv /usr/sys/MYSYS/vmunix /vmunix
# /usr/sbin/shutdown -r now
If the new kernel does not boot, follow the steps described in Section 5.2.
