Jobs are submitted to the Grid by users that have an account on a UI
machine with a valid certificate. The minimal requirements to submit a
simple job are the job itself and a submitting JDL file with
the job requirements as described in the examples.
Jobs are submitted to the default resource broker defined in the UI environment and executed on the first available queue managed node of any of the CEs that are currently known to the RB.
Job management is handled by the dg-job command suite. The commands are:
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-cancel cancel a job
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-get-logging-info get information for submitted jobs
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-get-output get job output
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-id-info display job information
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-list-match display job matching CEs
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-status display job status
/opt/edg/bin/dg-job-submit submit job
Job output and logging files are directed to the LB logging and bookkeeping node (usually the same as the RB) and are retrieved in the
/tmp area of the UI or
stored in a SE node and registered in the RC (Replica Catalog).
