Prof. Sheldon Glashow of Harvard University and Nobel Laureate in Physics will give a lecture on
Summary: Particle physics deals with the smallest constituents of matter, cosmology with the largest structures in the Universe. These disparate sciences have much in common and have developed together. Both disciplines require large and costly facilities, and neither is likely to yield "useful" technologies. Yet it is surely our duty to understand the infinitely small and the infinitely large as best we can.
