• pchb3 is configured as:
  • boot server for vmehb1
  • file server for vmehb1
• vmehb1:
  • boots from pchb3 using BOOTP and TFTP
  • creates a small RAM-disk (4.6 MByte)
  • Install the root file system / in the RAM-disk.
  • Install the NFS-file systems: /server, /home and /tmp. The physical disks are located on pchb3.bo.infn.it.
  • Install the NFS-file systems: /hp8hb1/home, /hp8hb1/weekly and /hp8hb1/monthly. The physical disks are located on hp8hb1.bo.infn.it.
  • The directories /, /bin.local, /dev, /etc.local, /lib, /tmp.local lye on the RAM-disk (and are deleted on shutdown).
  • The directories /X11, /bin, /etc, /home, /net, /sys, /tmp and /usr lye on NFS-disk (and are preserved on shutdown).
