General information

The Tenth Topical Seminar on "Innovative particle and radiation detectors" IPRD06 will take place in the Auditorium of the Graduate College Santa Chiara of the University of Siena, Italy, from 1 to 5 October 2006 .
The Seminar will be followed by one day long "GEANT4 tutorial workshop" from 5 October in the afternoon to 6 October in the morning.

The Seminar is the tenth in a series devoted since more than 20 years to experimental apparatus for high-energy particle physics and astrophysics. The previous ones were held in San Miniato (1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1998) and in Siena (2002, 2004). The 2006 Seminar will again focus on advanced technologies in particle physics at collider experiments, and in cosmic ray and astrophysics experiments, including balloon-borne and space based experiments. Special attention will be devoted to the application of these detectors in other fields, such as detectors for medicine and biology, security control, and environmental monitoring. The participation of representatives from industry will make it possible to discuss future applications of basic research. The Seminar will be based on review talks summarizing the progress of complex R&D projects and major facilities. Shorter talks will cover contributions on specific items. The presentation of posters is also foreseen.

Attendance will be by invitation and limited to approximately one hundred and fifty participants. Those interested should [e-/s-]write to the Organizing Committee.

In addition to the projector for PC presentations, a standard overhead projector will also be available. For the computer presentation the acceptable formats are Powerpoint and PDF. You will have to bring your presentation either on a CDROM or on a Flash Drive (USB pen) and download it on our PC before the session starts.

The size of the posters should be: 100 cm (height) x 70 cm (width).

The conference proceedings will be published in Nuclear Physics B (Proceedings Supplement). -- The page allottment is 3 pages for posters and 15' talks, 4 p. for 20' talks, 5 p. for 25' and 6 p. for 30'. -- Instructions to the authors can be found on the dedicated Web page.
