Wireless Service<\/span><\/p>\n

The INFN Computing and Network Service of Bologna provides a Wireless network service, which is active in the areas of greatest interest to the Division.
The support of the Service is given only for laptops.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following Wireless networks are currently available (always active)<\/span><\/p>\n

+ INFN-dot1x (encrypted traffic)<\/span>

<\/strong><\/span>
It can be used\u00a0 by: INFN Guests, Employees and Associated who have a device that support the 802.1x authentication protocol.
Configuration notes<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

+ INFN-Web (unencrypted traffic)<\/span>

<\/span><\/strong>Can only be used by: visitors (who are given access following registration with the INFN Management Service) and partecipants in conventions \/ conferences (upon registration).<\/span>

+ eduroam (encrypted traffic)<\/span>

<\/strong><\/span>It can be used by: all users of any organization that adheres to the Eduroam Federation<\/a> and who are in possession of a device that supports the 802.1x authentication protocol. To connect, they must use the same credential (username and password) that they would use in their home institution and in any case the settings indicated by their membership organization<\/strong>.<\/span> <\/div><\/span><\/p>\n

INFN Guests, Employees and Associates can use the configuration notes for accessing the INFN-dot1x network by replacing the wireless network name only (eduroam instead of INFN-dot1x).<\/span><\/p>\n

The guaranteed network services (limited compared to INFN-dot1x network)<\/strong> are: guaranted services<\/a>.

Use of the wireless network for meetings, conferences, on-site conventions with external staff.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
