The study of neutron-induced reactions is of large importance in a wide variety of research fields, ranging from stellar nucleosynthesis, symmetry breaking effects in compound nuclei, and the investigation of nuclear level densities, to applications of advanced nuclear technologies. The International n_TOF Collaboration is composed of 130 scientists from 41 participating research institutions from Europe (37), Japan (2), India (1) and Australia (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n+ Patrizio Console Camprini<\/strong><\/span>- Patrizio Console Camprini<\/strong><\/span>
The neutron time-of-flight facility, n_TOF, at CERN is a pulsed neutron source coupled to a 200 m horizontal and a 20 m vertical flight paths. n_TOF is designed to study neutron-nucleus interactions for neutron energies ranging from a few meV to several GeV.
