Testa <\/p>\n<p>The BO group involves researchers with expertise in biological Big Data analysis, Machine Learning and mathematical modelling of biological systems (Systems Biology, Network Theory, Stochastic Processes). They also work to radiomics studies (integration of PET, CT and GEP profiling) in collaboration with several centers (IRCCS Reggio Emilia, IRCCS Meldola). They are involved in several EU projects (IMI-2 Harmony, COMPARE, Propag-Ageing, ITN IMforFuture, VEO) for the analysis and management of omics data integrated with networks of knowledge (Protein, Transcriptome and Metabolic interaction networks). They collaborate directly with CNAF Computing Group for tasks of data management and High Performance Computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activities where Bologna is involved include:<\/p>\n<span class=\"collapseomatic noarrow\" id=\"Harmonization_of_omic_data\"  tabindex=\"0\" alt=\"Information about Harmonization of omic data\" title=\"Information about Harmonization of omic data\"    ><strong>+ Harmonization of omic data<\/strong><\/span><span id='swap-Harmonization_of_omic_data'  class='colomat-swap' style='display:none;'><strong>- Harmonization of omic data<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-Harmonization_of_omic_data\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-37195 size-medium\" src=\"\/gruppo5\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2020\/05\/AIM-1-300x265.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"\/gruppo5\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2020\/05\/AIM-1-300x265.png 300w, \/gruppo5\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2020\/05\/AIM-1.png 656w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>NGS and high-throughput data from several EU centers (inside IMI HARMONY EU project) will be studied, and will be tested against clustering and feature extraction algorithms as a function of the designed harmonization (e.g. normalization per sample\/per probe) procedures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n<br>\n<span class=\"collapseomatic noarrow\" id=\"Integrated_quantification_of_PET_and_omics_data\"  tabindex=\"0\" alt=\"Information about Integrated quantification of PET and omics data\" title=\"Information about Integrated quantification of PET and omics data\"    ><strong>+ Integrated quantification of PET and omics data<\/strong><\/span><span id='swap-Integrated_quantification_of_PET_and_omics_data'  class='colomat-swap' style='display:none;'><strong>- Integrated quantification of PET and omics data<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-Integrated_quantification_of_PET_and_omics_data\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\nPET data available from public database and from collaborations (Ospedale S. Orsola for prostate cancer PET data) will be analyzed for associations with clinical features (e.g. response to treatments, degree of aggressiveness).
