LT- and DC-plane efficiencies for years 1998, 1999 and 2000G. Bruni
1. IntroductionOctober 2000
The efficiencies for the LT- and DC-planes are evaluated for years 1998, 1999 and 2000. Special events taken along regular data-taking for calorimeter calibration purposes are used. The run list can be obtained through the command "oruninfo -t CALCAL". The full database from year 1995 to 2000 is reproduced here . The format is: tape-run-#events-1st event-last event-date-time.
The method used is described in [1] and references therein.
We include for future reference the source
,
the include
and the makefiles
used for the analysis.
Also the kumacs
directory that contains the kumacs and the results is included. Its main
structure is:
kumacs

The files open{year}.kumac have to be adapted to
open the ntuples obtained from the program run.
Once this is done, the easiest way to run the chain is
to make use of the script named steering,
that can be convenientely run in batch.
For example:
> cd kumacs/dc
> steering 1999 true >&
1999_eff.log &
will do the work for the year 1999.
It needs two arguments: the year and a flag that assumes the value "true"
if the kumacs will run in batch (it essentially prevents many "wait" inside
the kumac that will otherwise be active). The same applies for the
lt.
The kumacs will produce postscript
plots and write the final results inside the subdirectory named "valori_finali".
There is also a kumac called "compare.kumac" that allows the comparison of the final values for different years.
Finally a script named txtool
can
be used to produce a postscript summary of the efficiency files produced
in "valori_finali".
2. Statistics
In the following table we report
the statistic used for the analysis. Almost all but a few of the runs have
been used.
Year | # of runs | # of input events | # of selected events | # processed events |
1998 | 560 | 632985 | 59450 | 54601 |
1999 | 1151 | 2045520 | 210063 | 188326 |
2000 | 1371 | 2421004 | 257765 | 222785 |
3. Results
The results can be read off from
the following plots and tables.
Note: all the runs have been processed,
including those where the ZEUS_ONLY was bad. The efficiencies include therefore
the overall inefficiency due HV problems and all that.
The (preliminary) list of the 1999
and 2000 runs where the ZEUS_ONLY was off or malfunctioning is here.
(It has been taken from the EP
run summaries).
A list of runs where the ZEUS_ONLY was not participating
to the daq chain, taken from the runsummaries
is here for 1999
and 2000.
The list of the runs actually used for the final analysis is here: 1998 , 1999 , 2000 .
