+ Carla Sbarra
The technological research INFN is interested in includes accelerators, particle detectors, electronics and computing, together with their applications to other fields like medicine, environment, cultural heritage, space, and so on.
Activities in Bologna include both local projects and projects funded by the National Scientific Committee 5.
Main research lines concern the development of new radiation detectors and electronics; cultural heritage; development and applications of artificial intelligence ; the investigation of possible protection effects of hypotermia with respect to radiation damage; the development of high-temperature superconductive magnets as well as researches in the field of nanotechnologies, in particular on properties of nanotubes and nanowires.
Research activities are realized thanks to Labs and Instrumentation owened by INFN and the Physics Department of the University of Bologna.
