FIRE – Flexible organic Ionizing Radion dEtectors (Call)

Local Coordinator: Beatrice Fraboni
National Coordinator: Beatrice Fraboni
Research Units: Bo, LNL, Na, RM3, TiFPA
Duration: 2019-2021

Local Group: Fraboni Beatrice, Basiricò Laura, Ciavatti Andrea, Cramer Thobias, Fabbri Laura, Fratelli Ilaria

FIRE aims to develop innovative rediation detectors based on Organic Thin Film Transistors (OTFTs) in both direct and indirect configurations. Both x and gamma-rays, as well as charged particles and neutrons, will be detected by tuning the optical and electrical properties of organic materials through their molecular structure. As a final result, FIRE will develop, implement and validate in relvant environment flexible, low-power 2D pixel detector matrices (up to 3×3 pizels) equipped with read out electronics,
