Investigations with X-Ray Tomography
Bachelor and Master theses
Contact: Maria Pia Morigi

Development of advanced data-acquisition systems for CT studies in various fields as medicine, industry and cultural heritance; detector characterization, new-system commissioning, data acquisition and reconstruction of tomographic and microtomographic images of various kind of samples; techiques for the correction of systematics effects in image reconstruction (beam hardening effect, metal artifact, etc.)

Advanced Techniques for data acquisition systems
Master theses
Contact: Alessandro Gabrielli

Hardware and firmware implementation of triggering and track-fitting algorithms for LHC phase II (High-Luminosity LHC); readout systems for experiments with large scale detectors (more than 106 readout channels)

Development and Characterization of Ionizing-Radiation Detectors Based on Thin Organic Films and Perovskites
Bachelor and Master Theses
Contact: Beatrice Fraboni

Development, construction and characterization of large-area, scalable, and flexible detectors for ionizining radiation. Active materials consist in organic/hybrid matrices and perovskites deposited by solutions on flexible substrates so as to obtain devices with many geometries and large functional versatility. Electric properties of the materials and devices are characterized together with their performance as detectors (x-ray, gamma, and charged particles)
