CRT

It is a system composed by modules of which the mechanical design service has designed the mechanical support that contain the wide scintillator bars read out by SiPM (Silicon Photo Multipliers) glued to WLS (Wave-Length Shifting). The mechanical design service also studied their mechanical behaviour under stress through analyses FEM (Finite Element Method).

This system called top CRT (Cosmic Ray Trigger) positioned, as a roof on the ICARUS-T600 detector will allow to identifying and eliminating the signals induced by the passage of muons.
